Montserrat – with its high and steep sight – is situated 40 km northwest of Barcelona. It can be easily seen from the city when the weather is clear. After 1 hour trip, you arrive to Montserrat. On the hill, you find the amazing Montserrat Monastery from the 10th century. The symbol of Montserrat is Virgin Moreneta and people believe that she realizes many miracle. For that reason, this huge mountain and the monastery is being visited every year 27th April and 8th September. These dates are accepted as the center of christian pilgrim Catalan people. Also it is accepted the most important monastery of Europe. With its fresh and clean air, many natural products and withs its legend, Montserrat waits for you. Sitges is located 35 km south part of Barcelona. It is a lovely a fisherman village by the sea and all seasons has a great weather. The famous of the village comes from nearly 17th. century. Santiago Rusiñol who is a Catalan painter started to live in this lovely village. In many of his landscape paintings, he reflected Sitges with its coast, beaches, narrow streets and lovely houses. Very soon, Sitges became the center of art and culture. With its narrow streets, white houses, small gardens full of flowers, bohemian lifestyle, it looks like a miniature of Ibiza.
After the long stairs that goes to Sitges Cathedral, Maricel Palace, San Sebastian Beach, Library of Santiago Rusiñol. Then you will see the building of municipality, Bacardi Museum in the walking way. From the Mayor Street there are nice boutique shops to shop and have some souvenirs. Keeping on looking the shops you arrive to Maritim Street where again you arrive to the beach and the coast part of the town.
